Hi. Welcome to Watkinsons Farm. Our 120 acre vegetable farm has been in the family since the 1930s, with Ian working alongside his dad, Sam, for the last 20 years. It is now also home to Abi, Harry, Grace and George.

We absolutely love life on the farm and have been very lucky to have camped in ‘our woods’ for several years.  Whilst enjoying the views one evening, we agreed that it would be a great place for people to come and stay – a dream was born.

We decided there and then, that we should open a campsite, but we didn’t want just any old campsite, we wanted it be be as special to guests as it is to us!

We have created a small, relaxed and friendly glamping site that has minimal impact on the countryside and where family and friends can come together to escape the rat race, explore nature and reconnect with one another.

Welcome to Watkinsons Farm.

Just arrived home from a week’s glamping at Watkinsons. We had a fantastic holiday. We had amazing family time building fires and toasting marshmallows and playing games in the field. The site has everything you need to enjoy glamping, including comfortable beds! Our little people slept like logs. Abi made sure we had lots of information about the site before we arrived so that we could get on with our holiday as soon as we arrived. There are lots of places to visit within short driving distances if you are looking for fun days out for the children as well.

We loved staying at Watkinsons Farm. The Bell tent was lovely and really well equipped with all you could need for cooking and barbecuing as well as being cosy and comfortable overnight too. The woods behind the tents were perfect for our two girls (4 & 7) and they enjoyed flying their kite on the field too. The fire pit areas are great with seating and wood provided for our first night. It was a perfect for a couple of nights getaway without the set up or pack down of our tent! We will definitely be back!

We had a great stay here last weekend – Aug 19. The site is brilliant, with so much space for the kids to run around in. The tent was really clean and had absolutely everything you may need, as well as being comfy and cosy! Toilets and hot showers were great too. Abi was so helpful and welcoming- would definitely recommend this site and will be going again.

We had an amazing time at Watkinsons Farm. The Bell tents are superb, they are homely and comfortable and incredibly clean. Abi is lovely and welcoming and explained everything really well. It was my husbands birthday and the tent had been decorated with balloons which my two children thought was amazing. This place is just incredible for small children; mine are 4&5 and they had the time of their lives, we brought kites and they played for hours running around happily giggling and smiling. Highly recommend a stay here ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Watkinsons Farm Glamping is set in beautiful countryside in a pocket of woods at the far edge of a working farm. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely host Abi and her family who couldn’t have been more helpful. We drove a short track to the tents and were suddenly transported into a tranquil setting which felt miles from anywhere. The tents are well furnished and comfortable, and had everything we needed and more. We had a fire pit and tripod hot plate and the BBQ pack from the local butchers tasted mighty fine cooked on it. A bit of exploring in the woods followed by hot chocolate and marshmallows for the kids, a beverage for me and hubby and we were treated to a glorious sunset before bed. Just perfect ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic place to stay, with lovely views and many interesting walks to nearby towns. The owners were absolutely amazing – really friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay a great one. The tent was perfect and well appointed with supplies, and they even arranged for a selection of delicious meat from an outstanding local butcher. The site itself was quiet and well maintained and we were able to really feel that we were getting away from our normal lives yet in style! This isn’t glamping in a frivolous or flamboyant sense, this is top of the range camping where you can still cook over an open fire and hear the birds in the morning and wake with the sun. But with a nice roomy tent and plenty of supplies to take the worry away. Excellent toilet and shower facilities meant we were covered. Our seven year old son absolutely loved it and we can’t wait to come back. Thanks Abi and family for our time there. You were so kind ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

September 2017

We can honestly say our favourite mini break with the children to date. We booked only a few weeks before and everything was straight forward and we were well informed. Our first time Glamping and we enjoyed every minute of our escape from the rat race. There is something very therapeutic about stepping out into fresh air first thing, in your PJs and wellies and having only the sounds of birds and a stunning view. Everything was provided – literally everything .. even loo roll! We were up and running with a campfire and wine cooling in the provided cool-box within half an hour of arriving at the tent and the children were exploring and running around the mini woods behind us. This remained the theme of our few days. The children loved being imaginative with dens, sticks, cones and leaves and joining in the cooking on the fire. Our last evening was our anniversary: we enjoyed glorious sunshine eating tea in the fields, watched bunnies skipping across the freshly harvested field and once the children were asleep, we star gazed. We are planning our return trip, there is plenty to do locally and have several friends who want to try glamping now too. Well done to the Watkinsons, we wish you continued success and look forward to seeing you again. Mike, Laura, Louis and Ariella ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
